I assess and treat the range of adult mental health problems, including about alcohol, but specialise in mood and anxiety conditions. The former include depressions of all causes, and bipolar illness. There is a spectrum of anxiety disorders, which include panic attacks, generalised and social anxiety and OCD.
I work closely with the Priory Hospital at Hayes Grove near Bromley, which has excellent therapy and addictions departments. I also hold clinics in Sevenoaks.
My expertise is in making full assessments, to work out what the problem really is and to determine what kind of treatment will be of most value, whether a talking treatment or a medication. I have a special interest in medications, especially about antidepressants. There are many of them and often it is necesary to try a few before finding one that works best without side effects. I work with a network of psychologists and therapists, established over ten years, and based between central London and Tunbridge Wells. They use a range of psychological treatments.
